One thing we really missed with this unit is it does not come weather seal protection feature. If there is an environment or forecast of rain during your outdoor shooting, you will have to make arrangement for that to protect your camera from being wet or damp.
With its DIGIC 7 image processor and 24.2 Megapixel count the EOS 200D has produced stunningly beautiful images. Image quality produced by this camera is very well matched with that of image quality given by EOS 800D and EOS 77D. The dynamic range of the camera is far greater than its predecessor.
Another important feature we need to look at is the performance of the camera in terms of the ISO sensitivity. The ISO sensitivity is a feature that indicates how the camera performs in different light conditions. We did get a few user reviews in this respect too.
We did get excellent result in terms of image quality at the testing time. When we set the ISO level 100 to 1600, the images produced by the Canon EOS 200D we did not notice any distortion in image quality. They were completely noise free.
Going further to the ISO 3200 sensitivity range, we did feel some noise appearing in our image. But that also cannot be attributed to bad performance either. That is negligible. Setting up of ISO to 6400 and 12800 respectively did produce relatively more digital noise, though. You would not like to go beyond this level to retain the quality of your image.
If you are shooting at night, you would want to set the shutter speed at 30 seconds max, that lets you capture enough light in all conditions. When shooting in JPEG mode, you have option to create your own picture style with greater tone priority and auto lighting optimizer.
Shooting with burst mode was also good. We did not get disappointed with its performance because it fulfilled its quota of 5fps quite well. It is even better when shooting in Live View.
Coming to the performance of the Canon EOS 200D in terms of video recording, you will love to shoot video which is full HD 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps. You also have option to set your frame range to shoot video at 50 fps, 30 fps, 25 fps, 24 fps. It is also easy to toggle video mode from on/off switch as well as to access o the screen. Bu it does not offer 4K video recording.
