However, the low frequencies were somewhat inconsistent in their measurements and were somewhat dependent on the shape of the listener’s head.
One thing that couldn’t impress is the headphones are just an average for commuting in our opinion.
They’re sturdy but little bulky headphones that are barely isolated enough for commuting. Also, these headsets are not very outstanding for outdoor activities.
They fit snugly on your head and don’t fall off easily, but their lack of control, detachable cable, and overall bulky build means it’s not great for running or carrying to the gym.
The look and feel of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm are consistently high quality and robust, especially due to the headphone’s unique metal parts.
A head-to-head optical comparison of the Superlux HD330 shows that the German manufacturer is still on another level when it comes to processing quality.
What we show on the downside is the exposed cable connections everywhere between the headband and the earcups.
This can be easily damaged by accident.

If you’re on a tight budget but want ANC headphones, we have got the best option; the Sony WH-CH710N.
These ear cans are a lot cheaper than their counterparts as we talked about above. But you might ask are these headsets worth buying?
Well, we spent a week exploring the WH-CH710N, so you don’t have to bother a lot.
The Sony WH-CH710N is Bluetooth 5.0 capable and only has Bluetooth codecs SBC and AAC. This is surprising given that the LDAC is custom-made by Sony.
We don’t know why it’s not included here, but if you’re expecting higher-quality wireless sound, you might just miss a little.
Thankfully, all you have to do is plug the included 3.5mm audio cable into the input at the bottom of the left earcup.
The connection strength is pretty solid, and we didn’t have issues within 3 meters, neither had we issues with audio syncing when watching movies on YouTube.
The noise cancellation here is really good for what you pay. The combination of insulating pads on the earcups and active noise canceling technology actually cancels out a lot of external noise.
We also found that these headphones didn’t struggle with the airplane bass that cuts most other headphones very frequently.
Lovely! The Sony WH-CH710N sounds great and we thoroughly enjoyed using it.
Based on our experience, we can say these headsets don’t boost the bass very greatly.
Bass heads are probably better suited for something like the Sony WH-XB910N, as the bass is much stronger.

The headband and earcups are made of dense plastic and can tolerate considerable physical shock.
However, we note the earcup joints are the weakest point where these headphones are most susceptible to damage.
The pivot hinge is also a bit flimsy. We didn’t find these ear cans are very stable. We did see the device slipping easily out of the ears during high-intensity activities like running and jumping.
It maintains a stable fit with occasional use but moves slightly when you tilt your head. Also, there is no detachable cord.
This makes the sets get caught on the cord something and, the headphones will come off your head.
The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro is reasonably comfortable. It features large, well-cushioned ear cups that fit easily in most ears.
However, the removable padding on the headband is relatively thin. The headband also fits snugly on your head.
While listening we felt the pads alleviating some of the clamping force, but they can be uncomfortable for some listeners, especially during long listening sessions.
We found the insulation performance of the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro is just on average.
Although these are said to be noise cancelling headphones, they didn’t impress us very well. We felt these headphones lacked active noise cancellation. So as isolation in the bass range.
This means it lets through all low-frequency noise and engine sounds of planes and buses. In our experience, the ear cans have roughly 11dB of isolation in the midrange. This is which is decent.
We are impressed with the portability of the Sennheiser HD280 Pro headsets provided to us, but a little bulky.
They are on the big side of over-ear headphones. Luckily, they fold into a more compact design, making them easier to carry.

The Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 offers a slimmer design and more sophisticated noise-canceling technology.
But, at the same time, the quality comes at a cost. These headsets are also more expensive than the QC 35 II.
However, our experience says the battery life of these headsets isn’t as good as Sony headphones.
We are very happy to see the noise-canceling technology on offer here is class-leading. This makes the headsets ideal for use on noisy flights and busy commutes.
The soundstage is fairly wide for a pair of noise-canceling headphones, and it’s bold and assertive. It sounds great and is very comfortable to listen to.
It’s not the best-sounding noise canceller, but it’s the most sophisticated noise-canceling system we’ve come across.
The slightly awkward name for Bose’s over-ear noise-canceling headphones doesn’t exactly roll off your tongue.
Nonetheless, we are thoroughly impressed it does reflect the company’s recent focus on improving noise-canceling technology in its headphones.
The 700s use a new noise-canceling system that runs everything from new acoustics to new digital signal processing on Bose’s own NC chip.
It features an eight-mic system, six for noise cancellation and two for voice pickup.
There are 11 levels (starting from 0-10) of noise canceling strength you can choose from. You can go from total isolation to total transparency.

At any level and in any environment, the isolation effect is as good as we’ve experienced with headphones.

The HD 450BT may look a little understated, but it’s not wise to underestimate Sennheiser.
Considering the mid-range price point, these are well-built and very comfortable cans that offer great battery life and solid noise cancellation.
The sound is also good. Smooth, rich, and full-bodied, it delivers a lively sound that’s not only easy to listen to, but you’ll want to take it with you.
We are reluctantly impressed with their tones because these are a bit distorted towards the low end. That sacrificed the midrange clarity that more neutral competitors are capable of.
Some appreciate Sennheiser’s understated bias! But we might not.
The headsets offer 30-hour battery life and can be recharged in just two hours via the USB-C charging port.
In our months of usage, we found the battery is on par with more expensive premium competitors, and Sennheiser’s flagship on-ear Momentum 3 Wireless.
However, the ear can didn’t impress us initially with the midrange box. Less so for subtle designs that are robust and chic in black or white, but more for controls.

When I first held the Sony WH-XB900N headphones in my hand, the first impression that struck my mind about the headsets is that it’s mostly made of lightweight plastic materials.

The ear cans are surprisingly flexible and fit well on the head thanks to the head padding and ear cushions.
Sony usually does a good job ensuring their headphones are fairly portable and there is no exception with these headphones also.
The earcups rotate 90 degrees to lay flat and fold on the hinge to reduce the footprint making them smaller.
The plush memory foam pads feel light, but like most over-ears, they can get a little warm after prolonged use.
However, padding helps with separation. This is much more important to the listening experience, as the ear cups also rotate slightly for a better fit.
We tested the blue model and has visible light blue accents, which I think is a nice touch.
The Sony WH-XB900N’s active noise cancellation is very good, reproducing midrange frequencies about a third as loud as they would be without the headset.
The headset cannot really affect sub-bass notes. For that, we need more advanced features. Still, the passive isolation is very good and cuts out the harsh sounds around for you.
The Sony HW-XB900N has a bass-heavy sound profile. Plenty of punch and kick for EDM and hip-hop fans.
However, some users may find this sound profile a bit overwhelming and harsh. Luckily, the companion app has a graphic EQ and presets to customize the sound to your liking.
Sennheiser GSP 300 delivers great immersive game sound. The wired-over headphones have flexible headbands to fit different head sizes. There are memory ear pads to give maximum wearing comfort. These headsets offer wider compatibility and greater volume adjustment for gaming

They’re certainly good, but they’re often hampered by a problem or two that revolve around added functionality or non-core design elements.
But we feel the Sennheiser GSP 300 avoids all of that. It is intended to be used for an affordable price and offers all basic functionalities.
However, many gaming headsets offer basic features and more for the same price might not deliver the equal performance
In our testing and use for over two months or so the GSP 300 reproduces audio fairly accurately for us. It may be the reverse case for other users as well.
However, there are some things worth mentioning. There is a noticeable de-emphasis in the sub-bass range and the high-frequency range around 4 kHz.
Well, that said, it has a generally accurate midrange and bass output. In music, such a frequency response is good for almost anything you want to hear.
We would also make a point here that very low bass de-emphasis can dampen the punchy sound of electronic music a bit.
Kick drums and bass guitar sounds can also be difficult to hear, but you should listen carefully. The real problem you might run into is on songs where the bassline is already pretty weak
The bass de-emphasis might make some of the very deep rumbles look a little quieter in the explosion. But it doesn’t feel as quiet compared to everything else going on in the game.
Nearby enemy reload sounds, and even teammate chat are easier to hear. The Sennheiser GSP 300 offers pretty good isolation for a gaming headset.
As with most gaming headsets, it has just an average active noise cancellation, but it doesn’t mind the typical creaky floors and spinning refrigerators in your home.
In our experiments, the headsets didn’t do very well in outdoor activities.
